In the early 80s Ken was working on the use of optical fibres for the early detection of cracks in structures, such as off-shore oil rigs.  In November 1982 his work was featured on the BBC's popular science programme Tomorrow's World.  We've found a VHS recording of this programme and transferred it to a more modern format.
